Emma is the Artistic Director of Say So. Emma graduated from the University of Kent with a First Class Masters Degree in Drama and Theatre Studies in 2011. Her initial interest in becoming a drama facilitator stemmed from her passion for theatre and her interest in working with people of all ages and abilities.
Whilst studying for her Masters, Emma travelled to America to work with Chicago Children’s Theatre, teaching drama to underprivileged children in the inner city. On her return to Canterbury she worked on a number of projects with children and adults with learning disabilities and behavioural difficulties.
After graduating, Emma worked on a project funded by the AHRC called ‘Imagining Autism’ which involved creating imaginative and immersive worlds for children with autism. Soon after, Emma became a workshop leader in Dorset and in 2013, Artistic Director of Say So.
Throughout her experiences, Emma has developed a keen intuitive and patient manner which can be seen in her teaching. She is extremely passionate about her work being all inclusive and loves to work in a variety of different settings to ensure that creativity is accessible to all!
Vicki is our Activities Co-ordinator and Marketing / Administrator for Say So. Her passion for acting came from her adolescent years, starting off in smaller roles and ending up progressing to lead parts in local pantomimes. She also grew confidence, singing in her church’s band.
Following her diploma in Childcare and early years, Vicki gained experience working as a Teaching Assistant for adults with learning difficulties and disabilities, at a boarding school situated in the heart of Dorset. In addition to this, she worked as a nursery nurse working alongside the nurseries’ SENCO.
Through the years, Vicki’s career path changed into the Financial Services, eventually resulting in her keen eye for detail leading her to become a Compliance Officer for a multi-national bank.
However, her passion to help others learn and develop to their full potential, along with her love for drama and creative flair, has sought her to completely leave her career in Financial services and join us at Say So where she is a committed part of the team. Vicki’s belief in our ethos and innovative approach is contributing towards the expansion of Say So. She adores working with such a variety of people and they love working alongside her in return.
